Spring series (Day 10) Hotting up ...

Two more days to go in this years Spring series. After a 3 week break due to the Sailing club regatta weekend and a BSC Open meeting the stalwarts arrived again to do battle. A good course set by John Sharman (GBR 428) saw all skippers racing from the far side of the lake in front of the boatpark. A rigs were the order of the day, gradually becoming more testing as the morning wore on. After lunch B rigs were best suited to the new course and racing resumed from the clubhouse. A simple handicap system, with 2 boats, Sharman and Chandor (GBR 455) leaving 1 minute behind the fleet worked extremely well for the end results. 4 out of 6 skippers took 1st places and 5 out of 6 took 2nd places with

Spring series (Day 9) Northern Championship action

Burwain RC Lasers again play host to the Northern District Travellers Trophy. Results for Day 9 of the Spring series were taken from those Burwain skippers taking part in the TT. 7 skipppers arrived from 3 local clubs, Blackpool and Fylde, Fleetwood and Southport. Disappointingly only 3 Burwain skippers turned out to join the action, nevertheless the total of 10 boats on the start line made for some excellent racing. John Sharman arrived early and set a testing course that after the first race was shortened slightly to keep all boat numbers clearly visible.
