Spring Series (Day 10)

Six boats on the start line made for some excellent competition and close finishes in most races. Sarah Norton (GBR 460) was initially given a 60 second handicap and took advantage for the first three races. She was then joined by James (GBR 31) (a guest) who, on the same handicap afforded some close finishing for the two of them. as for the rest of the fleet many of the top places were secured by either Hugo Chandor (GBR 455) or Graham Norton (GBR 476) with Hugo Chandor eventually finishing ahead overall. Spring Series (Day 9) - Combined with Northern Area Championship series.

Burwain was delighted to, yet again, play host to the Northern Area Championship series. The chance to race seasoned skippers from across the region was irresistable to the 8 Burwain skippers who arrived bright and early. By 10.30am however, the scheduled time for the race briefing by John Sharman, it was clear that no visitors would arrive. They missed a superb, if challenging, days racing. A blisteringly hot day with intermittent and gentle breezes coming down the lake mostly from the North afforded all some terrific racing. Spring series (Day 8)

What a treat! Six skippers turned our for a wonderful days sailing. With a very gentle breeze that oscillated from North to West, and all points in between, it was always going to be challenging. Sarah Norton, the clubs newest guest began the day with a two minute handicap start. She took advantage scoring two wins out of the first four races. At the end of the fourth race it was agreed to break for lunch in the hope that the wind would pick up some enthusiasm. It did.
