Burwain Autumn Series (Day 3) While the cat's away

By choosing to compete in the RC Laser UK Northern District Championships at Southport, John Sharman missed out on valuable points and hence relinquished his grip on the Autumn series today.

In his absence Hugo Chandor (GBR 455) enjoyed a sufficient number of victories to seize the day and go into the overall series lead.


Strong winds caused mirth and anguish in equal amounts as Lasers morphed into submarines on downwind legs. Close racing and tight finishes made for a tremendous day's sailing with two or more boats separated by millimetres on the finish line becoming commonplace.
