Burwain Autumn series (Day 5) Jerusalem wall

November 6, 2016

Passers by and dog walkers could be forgiven for imagining they had arrived at Burwains Jerusalem Wall.

Vortexes, Black Holes and freak conditions elicited much wailing and gnashing of teeth from almost all skippers.

Comedy moments abounded as boat A might meet a fast approaching boat B, both on exactly the same tack and yet sailing in the opposite direction. There seemed little rhyme or reason to the vagaries of the weather.

Hugo Chandor (GBR 55) survived the day relatively untroubled by the rest of the fleet however all other skippers, save for Peter Hilton who had to leave early, enjoyed 2nd places and many of the 11 races sailed were decided within a boat length of the finish line.
