More than half way through the summer series and things are certainly hotting up on the lake. The welcome addition of a visiting skipper, Gary Benson (GBR 036) from Fleetwood focused everyones minds. An extremely experienced skipper with an excellent knowledge of the rule book was just what the Burwain skippers needed to improve their concentration.
Conditions were challenging, as usual, around the windward mark with light airs becoming very flukey due to the proximity to the dam wall. The rest of the course enjoyed more consistent breezes and the choice to use A rigs throughout the day was unanimous with the exception of the last race of the day.
In all 12 races got underway in good time with minimal stoppage time necessary. The final spoils went to Hugo Chandor (GBR 55) with Richard Whittle (GBR 801) and Graham Waugh (GBR 476) in hot pursuit.
We hope to see Gary Benson back agan soon.
