The weather ensured that any skipper uncertain as to whether this was a Summer Series race or one from the new Autumn Series was left in no doubt. Strong cold and distinctly un-summery gusts were enough to send one skipper, Susan Sharman, to seek sanctuary in the clubhouse with 3 races still to go. B rigs were the order of the day until lunch, but the afternoon required a hasty change down to the seldom used C.
Hugo Chandor arrived late, missing the first 4 races, to find John Sharman firmly in control of the fleet having already taken 3 of the first 4 bullets. This command was not to be challenged and Sharman closed the day with an unassailable 9 wins out of 12 races.
Still more photo-finishes across the fleet demonstrate the overall improvements as all our skippers gain more and more experience.
