The author left bright sunshine behind in Liverpool and, in the space of an hour and a half, drove through drizzle, snow, sleet and finally back into sunshine before arriving at Burwain for Day 7 in the Winter RC Laser series. Thankfully the weather on the lake remained almost constant. A bright, clear and mostly sunny day made for some excellent sailing with the only variable being wind strengths. The entire fleet changed from A rigs to B rigs and back again, but nevertheless were able to enjoy 12 races over courses of varied length.
Hugo Chandor (GBR 455) took the day with an almost perfect score of 9 1sts from 10 races after 2 discounts had removed the blemishes from his scorecard! Further down the fleet tremendous encouragement could be found in the distribution of results. 3 skippers scored 1st place results and no fewer that 6 of the 7 skippers scored 2nd place results with the overall 2nd place going to Richard Whittle (GBR 801) and 3rd to Graham Waugh (GBR 076)
