What a treat!
Six skippers turned our for a wonderful days sailing. With a very gentle breeze that oscillated from North to West, and all points in between, it was always going to be challenging.
Sarah Norton, the clubs newest guest began the day with a two minute handicap start. She took advantage scoring two wins out of the first four races. At the end of the fourth race it was agreed to break for lunch in the hope that the wind would pick up some enthusiasm.
After lunch Sarah had her handicap cut to a one minute start and was joined at the line by two more guests, James and Darryl. We now had a fleet of 3 boats over the line followed a minute later by a further 5. This was soon reduced to 4 as Peter Hilton generously gave up his racing to do some voluntary boat fixing for another skipper.
All in all it was a fine days racing and excellent practise before the arrival of the Northern Area Championship at Burwain next weekend.
