Summer is here! Of that there could be no doubt. Good Easterly breezes and blistering sunshine promised excellent racing conditions for all. Peter Hilton set the scene by arriving on the deck with an enormous jug of iced orange squash and glasses for all. Sarah Norton, although not in attendance, has sent scones for everyone so it seemed that the only thing missing was the strawberries.
But we were there, of course, to race. Peter Hilton suffered boat issues and had to retire for most of the day. Hugo Chandor and Richard Whittle were set to enjoy some match racing until they were joined by newcomer James Webber. Still wearing L plates James was granted a 6o second start in all races and took full advantage taking plentiful 2nd place finishes. Clearly a fast learner!
A surprising day of variable wind conditions (sail choices ranged from D to B) saw Chandor finish ahead from Whittle (2nd) and Webber (3rd).
