What a tough day!
The 11 skippers that turned up to compete were treated to one of the toughest days' sailing imaginable. (10 took to the start line as Sarah Norton suffered transmitter damage and was unable to compete).
The level of the lake was almost the lowest it has ever been, resulting in what little wind there was being spun into eddies and gusts that were entirely unpredictable. John Sharman set a course that needed little alteration during the day. There seemed little point.
It was a day to test the patience and skillls of all and , by the end of 12 races, Sharman took the day with an extremely impressive 19 points. Hugo Chandor took second with 27 points and Robert Wheeler, who suffered a catastrophe, colliding with a pontoon, managed third with 32 points.
It was a creditable day for Burwain RC Lasers, with BRCL members taking three of the top four places (Richard Whittle taking 4th place with 36 points).
