A Break from the Lake

April 16, 2019

With a gap in the Spring Series due to a sailing club Open Meeting, several RC Laser sailors were clearly concerned about the possible effects of withdrawal symptoms. Seeking a new venue, 4 intrepids headed for the canal outside Barrowford.

If the aim was to try a different sailing experience, it was certainly successful.

Weed, swans, canal barges, houseboats and irate farmers all contributed to a day with a difference. Add to the mix the most bizarre wind patterns we had ever experienced (two boats could sail towards each other and a head on collision, both fully on the run) and it was certainly a challenging day.

Great fun, enjoyed by Sarah Norton, Graham Waugh, Fran Fairclough and Hugo Chandor.

Next week it's back to the lake for the much anticipated Easter Handicap.
